This is the remains of an ancient palace located on top of the rock. Sigiriya or the Lion Rock, so called. Located in the Matale District, Sri Lanka, surrounded by forests, reservoirs, and gardens. Its location is unique, coupled with wonderful scene, making Sigiriya visited by many tourists. Viewed from the air, like Sigiriya ancient paintings are reminiscent of the Ajanta Caves in India.
